Thomas J. Hitchcock a true friend that thought of others before himself.He regularly attended Services at the Napa Valley lSalvation Army. He loved the captain and Iris a loving grandmother that donates her services there.my brother
was well loved by the fellowship there.Tom lent a hand helping there many times.The last.surviving member of his Nuclear team at Mare Island,his fellow co-workers predeceased him.Tom still had a love for his ex- and his children.May you rest peacefully brother in the arms of Jesus!

Thomas James Hitchcock, 62, died peacefully on Oct. 11, 2012, at home in Napa.

Tom was born Aug. 18, 1950, in St. Helena to Max and Elsie Hitchcock. He attended Napa schools. Tom was a shipfitter at Mare Island Naval Shipyard and worked various jobs in Napa. Tom was well-read and loved solving crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his daughter, Roberta Hitchcock-Johansen of Chico, Calif.; sister, Susan McDaniel of Napa; brothers, Robert Michalk of Calistoga, Stan Hitchcock of Napa, Jeff Hitchcock of Seymour, Ind.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his son, Thomas James, Jr., his parents, and a sister, Bette Ann Soekland.

A memorial service will be held in the Asbury Room at the First United Methodist Church, 625 Randolph St., on Friday, Oct. 26, at 2:30 p.m.
