Netanyahu Warned Putin of Israeli Attacks on Weapons to Hezbollah [video]

http://www.jewi
if Iran tries to move a Russian s-300 antimissile system to Syria or Hezbollah in Lebanon, Israel will make sure it doesn't get there.

Russian S-300 surface-to-air missile systems deployed in a military exercise.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned Vladimir Putin that Israel will attack weapons that Iran or Syria tries to ship to Hezbollah, according to a Defense News report of the conversation between the two leaders last week.
The official statement after their hour-long talk simply said that the Prime Minister criticized Russia’s sale of the S-300 advance anti-missile system to Iran as a “direct result of the dangerous deal on the table” between Iran and the P5+1 countries.
What was not reported was Netanyahu’s warning to the Russian president that Israel’s “red line” is any attempt by Iran or Syria to transfer, to place any advanced weapons in the hands of Hezbollah, Iran’s world-wide proxy terrorist network operating out of Lebanon.   Syria and Hezbollah are heavily armed with Russian weapons, and Hezbollah’s missile arsenal is considered to be larger than almost any army in the world.
Defense News reported this week, “Israel is monitoring ‘active and ongoing leakage of Russian material,’ including SA-22 short-range and SA-17 medium-range air defense systems, via Syria to Iranian-backed Hezbollah allies in Lebanon.”
It quoted an Israeli official as saying:
We’ve discussed this with our friends in Washington and Europe and made multiple demarches to Moscow over a period of weeks and months.
Our red line policy is clear: We view unauthorized third-party transfers of Russian-origin equipment as legitimate targets.
In plainer English, if Iran tries to move a Russian s-300 antimissile system to Syria or Hezbollah in Lebanon, Israel will make sure it doesn’t get there.
There was no hint of the warning in the official press release of the conversation between Putin and Netanyahu, which stated, “Israel views with utmost gravity the supply of S-300 missiles from Russia to Iran, especially at a time when Iran is stepping up its aggression in the region and around the borders of the State of Israel.”
Israel has attacked Hezbollah-bound weapons in Syria at least five times in the past two years, including a strike in January on weapons and a military unit planning to attack Israel from the Syrian side of the Golan Heights.
Israel previously has made it clear that it will strike to stop the transfer of “game-changing” sophisticated weapons and chemical weapons to Hezbollah.
However, Israel does not appear prepared to attack Russian weapons, including the S-300 systems, to Iran.
Netanyahu has done his best to express anger at the Russian sale of the S-300 to Iran.
Israel will take the unusual step of not sending its ambassador to Russia for Saturday’s annual victory parade, which this year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The United States, France and Germany have snubbed the parade because of Russian’s belligerency in Ukraine, which Israel has no trouble overlooking.
The Foreign Ministry did not cite the sale of the Russian-made S-300 anti-missile systems to Iran as the reason for boycotting the parade.
Some people have tried rationalizing the snub by explaining that attending the parade would require violating the Sabbath.
Benny Briskin, the Director of International Programs of the Russian Jewish Congress, was quoted by Metro website as saying, “Jews in Israel, especially at a state level, do not have the right to participate in ceremonies which are somehow connected with travelling [on the Sabbath]. If the Israeli president – the top public official of the country – publicly violates the Sabbath even for the very best occasion, it might lead to a scandal, up to the dissolution of the government.”
That would be a nifty explanation if it weren’t for the fact the Israel is sending low-level officials to the parade.

5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT IRANIAN SPONSORSHIP OF TERRORISM

1) Iran actively bankrolls and trains Hezbollah to wage war against Israel

Hezbollah, designated by the U.S. as a terrorist organization, receives Iranian military training and $100-200 million annually to finance terrorist operations against Israel. Operating from Southern Lebanon, Hezbollah has a history of firing rockets indiscriminately into Northern Israel, and killing and kidnapping Israeli border guards. During the 2006 Lebanon War, Hezbollah launched nearly 3,900 missiles into Northern Israel, killing Israeli civilians. Currently, the Iranian-backed terror group possesses 100,000 short- and long-range rockets and missiles that have the ability to hit Israel. Its most advanced missile, the M600 surface-to-surface missile, has a range of 155 miles, making it capable of hitting Tel Aviv.

2) Iran sponsors Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups that attack Israel

Iran has historically been the largest supplier of arms and cash to the terrorist organization Hamas, which operates from the Gaza Strip. Iranian financial support between 1990 and 2000 ranged from $20 million to $50 million annually. The Iranians have also bankrolled other Palestinian terrorist organizations such as the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine General Command. Since Israel’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in 2005, these organizations, along with Hamas, have fired more than 11,000 rockets into Israel. Five million Israelis in southern Israel live under the threat of rocket fire. In 2011 alone, 630 rockets were fired into Israeli towns near Gaza.

3) Iran has carried out attacks against Americans

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Council orchestrated the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine and French military barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, which killed 299 American and French troops. Americans were attacked once again in 1996, when the Kohobar Towers in Saudi Arabia were bombed, killing 19 U.S. soldiers. Meanwhile, in April 2008, General David Petraeus testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee that Iran provided arms and other military hardware to Shia militants who used these weapons to target U.S. soldiers in Iraq. Several members of the Iranian Quds force have been captured operating in Iraq.

4) Iran has close connections to Al Qaeda

Iran has had a working relationship with Al Qaeda since the early 1990s. According to the 9/11 Commission report, Iran agreed to help Al Qaeda carry out operations against the U.S. and Israel. Al Qaeda operatives received weapons and explosives training from Iranian operatives in Iran and Lebanon. Iran is home to several Al Qaeda operatives, such as Yasin al-Suri, who is responsible for moving money and recruits from the Middle East to central Al Qaeda in Pakistan.

5) Iran has launched terrorist attacks against Jews around the world

Tehran has an expansive international terror network which it has used to attack Jews. In May 2013, a report presented by an Argentinian state prosecutor claimed that Iran has an “intelligence and terrorist network” in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, and elsewhere. Iranian officials are wanted for the 1992 bombing of the Israeli embassy in Argentina that killed 29 people, and the bombing two years later of the AMIA Jewish Cultural Center there, killing 85. Iran has also targeted Israeli tourists in Thailand, Bulgaria, and Cyprus. The attack in Bulgaria, carried out by Hezbollah, killed six and injured 32 when an explosion ripped apart an Israeli tourist bus.
