Join Russia and USA by Rail Tunnels under the Bering Strait?

Join Russia and USA by Rail Tunnels under the Bering Strait?

Russia’s Urals oil has been over $100 a barrel for a year now.
The country’s budgets are balanced. Debt is low. Savings are piling up. Russians are getting their pre-recession mojo back.
On the consumer end, sales of foreign cars made in Russia jumped 90 percent during the first quarter of 2012 over last year.
In the Kremlin, leaders are thinking big again.
In rapid succession, the government leaked a plan to create a “super agency” to develop the Russian Far East; President-elect Vladimir Putin vowed to spend $17 billion a year for new and improved railroads, and Vladimir Yakunin, president of Russian Railways, promoted a think big plan — a rail and tunnel link connecting Russia and the United States.
“It is not a dream,” Yakunin, a close ally of Mr. Putin, told reporters last week. “I am convinced that Russia needs the development of areas of the Far East, Kamchatka. I think that the decision to build must be made within the next three-five years.”
Next year, Russia’s railroad czar will open one big leg on the trip toward the Bering Strait – an 800 kilometer rail line to Yakutsk, capital of Sakha Republic, a mineral rich area larger than Argentina.
Moscow-born Fyodor Soloview lives in Anchorage, Alaska, where he lobbies for uniting his two homelands, Russia and the United States, with rail tunnels under the Bering Strait. Photo: Soloview
But the 270,000 residents of Yakutsk do not want to live at the dead end of a spur line. They dream of five kilometer long freight trains rolling past their city, carrying Chinese goods to North America, and North American coal and manufactured products to Russia and China.
From their city, 450 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle, passenger tickets could be sold west to London, and east to New York.
With the West’s swelling population of aging affluent retirees, what better gift for Mom and Dad than a one-month train trip, rolling across the International Dateline, traveling by rail three quarters of the way around the world? A TransBering rail voyage would make the TransSiberian and the TransCanada look like short hops.
To push thinking along, Yakutsk hosted a trans Bering rail conference last August. Engineers showed charts indicating that the tunnels under the Bering Strait would be 103 kilometers long, about twice the length of the tunnel under the English Channel. Unlike Europe’s “Chunnel,” there are two islands along the Bering route – geographical factors that would ease construction and allow for ventilation and emergency access.
For now, the only trains in Alaska run from Seward on the coast 760 kilometers into the interior, carrying tourists to Denali National Park and freight to two military bases. Photo: Fyodor Soloview
A trans Bering rail link was first seriously proposed by Czar Nicholas II in 1905. One century later, with the rise of China and the explosion of Asian manufacturing, some Russian economists believe that the day is near when a rail link to North America up would be economically viable.
The current price tag for the missing 10,000 kilometers, tunnel included: $100 billion. Freight fees are estimated at $11 billion a year.
Russian Railways estimates that a Bering Strait tunnel could eventually handle 3 percent of the world’s freight cargo. Yakunin says that China is interested in the project. At a railway meeting in Moscow Thursday, Mr. Putin said that freight traffic on a main Siberian line, the Baikal-Amur Mainline, is expected to nearly triple by 2020.
To critics who worry about harsh winter weather, Russian Railways notes that since 1915, the company has been running passenger and freight trains year round to Murmansk, located 300 miles north of the Arctic Circle. The proposed route for a tunnel under the Bering Strait would pass 50 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle.                                                                                                         For a tunnel linking two continents, support has to be generated on the North American side. In Alaska, Fyodor Soloview, a native of Moscow, recently formed InterBering, a private group to lobby for rail construction to the Bering Strait.
“We can ship cargo between two the continents by rail,” Soloview said by telephone Thursday from his office in Anchorage. “Once the Bering tunnel is built, it will convert the entire world to different thinking.”
Yakunin estimates that the Russian side of a trans Bering railroad would take 10 to 15 years to build. That could fit into the political calendar of his friend Mr. Putin. On May 7, Mr. Putin will be inaugurated for a new six year term. He has left open the possibility of running in 2018 for another six year term.
So Russian Railways may have the political cover for another 12 years.
The question is whether oil prices will stay high enough to build a tunnel linking America and Asia.
If so, Washington’s diplomatic reset with Moscow could be welded in steel.

Stop Cultural Marxism

#BarackObama "#Race #Warfare Is #Being #Promoted To #Divide And #Destroy #America ! #Deception And #Corrupt #Liberal #Media His #Tools                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              To understand the future, study the past. Throughout world history, all multiethnic empires have broken up, and almost always in cataclysmic violence. Therefore, the question is not if the multiethnic American Empire will shatter, but when and under what circumstances." - Thomas Chittum, Civil War II the Coming Break up of America
****
If this is true of America and other Empires in which different races and cultures have clashed, then it is true of what they are doing to Western nations in terms of purposefully creating multiracial societies in which we can already see the tension and conflict emerging.
As we have said numerous times in the past, the politicians creating the multiracial societies are not stupid, they know the consequences of forcing different groups together and know that the historical examples of forced diversity leading to conflict are many. The question is then, why do they do it?
Bringing other races, cultural groups and religious groups en masse into a once homogeneous society is not done by accident, it is purposeful social and demographic engineering carried out by the political establishment and their financial handlers. Those behind it know full well that the future as a result of this forced mixing is conflict.

ALERT: Top Navy Officer FIRED by Obama For Exposing Massive Threat to US

ALERT: Top Navy Officer FIRED by Obama For Exposing Massive Threat to US

President Barack Obama’s been on a roll when it comes to firing military officers — especially those who aren’t afraid to speak out against the administration and expose what’s really happening behind the scenes.
That seems to be the case with Capt. James Fanell, a senior Navy intelligence leader who was relieved from his position as the U.S. Pacific Fleet’s director of intelligence and information operations because he made public information about China that Obama didn’t want you to hear.
His comments, now being labeled “provocative,” revealed that after a recent Chinese amphibious exercise, naval intelligence officials assessed that China’s strategy was to be able to launch a “short, sharp war,” with Japan.
Fannell said the following about Chinese naval intentions: “(We believe) the (People’s Liberation Army) has been given the new task to be able to conduct a short, sharp war to destroy Japanese forces in the East China Sea following with what can only be expected (as) a seizure of the Senkakus or even southern Ryukyu (islands).”
Those actions could potentially lead to something along the lines of World War III.
According to Pentagon brass, this information runs counter to their daily talking points about “building ties” with the Chinese Navy, a force which appears to be more assertive than ever before.
Adm. Harry Harris, in charge of PACFLT, relieved Fannel from his position as an intelligence director. According to Military Times, he was reassigned as an aid to Rear Adm. Randy Crites at PACFLT’s maritime headquarters — which is a long fall from his previous position.
In other words, he was punished for exposing a massive threat to the United States that Obama and his administration didn’t want you to know about.

WASHINGTON POST MOBILE SITE REPORTEDLY HACKED BY SEA SYRIAN ARMY

Threeper Nation Intel Report

Intel report i just got. please share
#1 Washington Post mobile site temporarily shut down in apparent hack
Washington (CNN)—The Washington Post's mobile website was temporarily downed Thursday in an apparent hack. Access to the website was blocked while a message popping up saying "You've been hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army," a group that has targeted websites of major companies and other media websites in the past and supports the current Syrian regime. A Twitter account linked to the group said the Syrian Electronic Army was responsible for the hack. CNN could not independently confirm whether the group was responsible for disrupting the site. The Washington Post is now redirecting mobile users to the desktop version of its site. Shailesh Prakash, chief information officer at The Washington Post, confirmed the issue Thursday afternoon.
"The Washington Post's mobile homepage and some section fronts on the mobile site were redirected to a site that claimed to be run by the Syrian Electronic Army. The situation has been resolved and no customer information was impacted."
Before the redirect was begun, users were greeted with numerous dialog boxes when they tried to access the site.
"US govt is training the terrorists to kill more Syrians," read one message.
"Saudi Arabia and its allies are killing hundreds of Yemens (sic) people everyday!" according to the next.
And finally: "The media is always lying."
The page then displayed a message saying "Hacked by SEA."
The Syrian Electronic Army also hacked into CNN social media accounts and blogs early last year.
The hacker group has previously targeted companies including Dell, Microsoft and Ferrari, as well as media outlets like the Associated Press, The Guardian and the Financial times.
#2 Cop says "I have weapons on" while arresting peaceful protesters after FERC denies public access to meeting
14th of May, citizens from 8 different areas harmed by gas fracking, gas pipelines, and gas export projects attempted to attend the monthly meeting of FERC, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Many were denied access to the meeting room, so they started chanting in the auditorium. When they were escorted out, cops detained 5 and arrested three.During the first arrest, one cop demanding more personal space saying "I have weapons on."He mentioned his weapons not once but twice. If he thought his weapons were placing him in danger, he should have backed up himself first and foremost, not waited for someone else to comply or refuse to do so. Not doing so further suggests an intent to threaten.
In many jurisdictions, to remind someone that you are armed during any kind of argument or confrontation is enough to sustain a conviction for brandishing the weapon in question.
Police are not supposed to brandish guns, even in this sense of the word, during arrests nonviolent protests!
This meeting was moved to May 14th from May 21 in a failed attempt to evade protesters and silence the public. Previous FERC meetings have featured the ejection of protesters against the rubberstamping of fracked gas projects such as Dominion's gas export facility at Cove Point, MD.In at least one case security guards or cops stole a camera from a protester and threatened to delete video footage. FERC regulations explicitly require them to permit the public to video "open" meetings, but several times in a a row this regulation has been ignored or defied.

#5 Engineer Reportedly Heard Saying Derailed Amtrak Was ‘Hit By a Rock or Shot At’ as FBI Joins Investigation
The NTSB says an assistant conductor in the cafe car of the Amtrak train said she heard the engineer talking to a regional rail train engineer who said he’d been “hit by a rock or shot at.” She says she thought she heard the Amtrak engineer say his train had also been struck. During a Friday press conference, the agency said it has asked the FBI to join the investigation. NTSB member Robert Sumwalt says his team has “seen damage to the left hand lower portion of the Amtrak windshield.”
The derailment of the Washington-to-New York train killed eight people. BuzzFeed News reported on Friday that investigators are trying to determine whether “consistent vandalism along a section of the Northeast Corridor – namely people throwing objects at passing trains” may have played a factor in the fatal derailment Prior to the deadly crash on Tuesday, a SEPTA commuter train and a different Amtrak train in the area were reportedly hit by projectiles, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. One of the reported “projectiles” smashed the engineer’s window on one of the trains.Passenger aboard another train in area before deadly Amtrak 188 derailment
There was no information available on Friday that suggests a link between the incidents and the deadly Amtrak derailment.

#7 Penn State target of cyberattack out of China; some information compromised: University officials
Two cyberattacks have targeted Penn State's College of Engineering, and the university has shut down its network in response. "This was an advanced attack against our College of Engineering by very sophisticated threat actors," said Penn State President Eric Barron in a released letter to the Penn State community. At this time, only usernames and passwords issued by the college are believed to have been compromised, according to a Friday news release from the university. University officials hired Mandiant, a FireEye cybersecurity forensic unit, and an investigation into the threats revealed that at least one of the two attacks was carried out by a person using advanced malware and based in China. University officials had the College of Engineering's computer network disconnected from the Internet and launched a large-scale operation to securely recover all of its systems. The outage is projected to last multiple days, but it is expected to primarily affect the College of Engineering. The FBI first notified Penn State officials of the attack on Nov. 21, 2014, and security experts were called to launch an investigation. The investigation revealed "two previously undetected, sophisticated threat actors on the college's network," according to the release. The earliest known breach dated back to September of 2012. About 18,000 people whose personal information, including Social Security numbers, were discovered in files that were stored on several targeted machines in the college are being contacted by the university. There is no evidence, however, that the information was compromised by the attack, according to the release. The university is offering one year of free credit monitoring to those affected out of caution.
Penn State's Office of the Vice President for Research is also notifying about about 500 public and private research partners who have contracted with the college faculty since September 2012.

Minutes before Amtrak Regional 188’s violent derailment in darkness Tuesday, two other trains were hit by projectiles along the same line.
Amtrak Acela 2173 — heading to Washington, D.C. from New York — had a passenger window damaged around 9:15 p.m. as it traversed the southbound line toward Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station.
Madison Calvert was sitting next to the left-side window that was hit. He was working on his laptop computer when he heard a loud smack.
“I’m like ‘Oh my God, my window’s shattered,’” he recalled. The impact left a large divot and cracks throughout the window, as seen in photos the 29-year-old took.
